What is a Flux
Flux is a window that receives real-time information from Twitter, RSS, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, and Tumblr, organizing the feeds in a chronological list. Choose the feeds from topics you’d like to follow and create your own information flow. You can also customize your fluxes by changing the visualization mode and adding filters and highlights to it.
How to create a flux
- Click on the New Window button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- In the New Window, select the option New Flux;
- Search for any topic or feed of your interest;
- Add the feeds from your search results to your Selected Feeds list;
- Once you’re done, click on Create New Flux;
- Give your flux a name, set its privacy and click on Confirm; (Obs.: Setting the privacy to public will enable any Fluxonaut user to see your flux through the Public Directory)
- To keep these changes in your layout, don't forget to click on the save button located in the Main Window of your dashboard.
How to add new feeds to an existing flux
- Click on the + icon located in the top bar of the flux;
- Search for any topic or feed of your interest;
- Add the feeds from your search results to your Selected Feeds list;
- Once you’re done, click on Add Feeds.
How to customize a flux window
- Click on the gear icon located in the top bar of the flux;
- In the Flux Settings, choose the visualization mode and change the background, font and other options.
How to change the privacy of a flux
- Click on the Window Manager button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- Locate the flux of your choice and click on the first icon in the right part of the row until it shows your desired privacy.
How to rename a flux
- Click on the Window Manager button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- In the Feeds option, locate the flux of your choice and click on the gear icon in the right part of the row;
- Click on Rename and change the name of your flux.
How to remove feeds from a flux
- Click on the gear icon located in the top bar of the windows;
- In the Feeds option, locate the flux of your choice and click to select it;
- Choose the feeds in the list and click in the X icon to remove one by one.
How to import Twitter/YouTube feed directly from your account
- Click on the New Window button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- In the New Window, select the option Import;
- In order to import your feeds from Twitter or YouTube, you need to link your accounts first – click on Link Account in the Twitter/YouTube card and follow the instructions;
- With the account linked, click on the Twitter/YouTube card;
- Add the feeds (accounts you’re subscribed to or the people you follow) you’d like to import from your account to your Selected Feeds list;
- Once you’re done, you can create a new flux or add the feeds to an existing flux.
How to import feeds from an RSS reader into Fluxonaut
In order to import feeds from an RSS reader, you must first export an .OPML file from your current reader (most of them allow you to do so) and proceed to the following steps:
- Click on the New Window button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- In the New Window, select the option Import;
- Click on the OPML File card and select the file to be imported;
- Add the feeds you’d like to import from your imported file to your Selected Feeds list;
- Once you’re done, create a new flux or add the feeds to an existing flux.
Where to find fluxes created by other people
- Click on the New Window button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- In the New Window, select the option Public Directory;
- Immediately you will be able to see your contact list – click in any of your contacts to see their public windows or use the search to find any Fluxonaut user.
With Fluxonaut's chat open, click and drag the post you would like to share and drop it in the chat window.
With Fluxonaut's chat open, click and drag the arrow icon located in the top bar of the flux and drop it in the chat window.
- With Fluxonaut's chat open, click and drag the post you would like to share and drop it in the WhatsApp window;
- Select the chat you are sharing to and click on the arrow button.
How to move a flux from one board to another
- Click on the Manager button located in the Main Window of your dashboard;
- Look for the Flux you’d like to move (or copy) from the list of active and inactive windows and click on the gear icon;
- In the popup window, click on “Move to another board” or “Copy to another board”;
- Select the board you want to move or copy and click on Send;
- To keep these changes in your layout, don't forget to click on the save button located in the Main Window of your dashboard.
How to remove a flux
- Click on the close icon located in the top bar to close your flux;
